If you chose to criticise me for including this short section of road in a list Lakeland passes then I'd probably accept your comments and admit that perhaps I could have left this one off. So why did you include it you might ask. The simple fact is, Great Langdale and Little Langdale are two separate valleys and this is the long accepted route linking the head of both valleys. A pass doesn't have to be particularly difficult or long to be a pass.
A short de-tour to Blea Tarn is not only justified but encouraged when walking over here. A view over the tarn to Side Pike and the Langdale Pikes is without doubt one of the Lake Districts 'classic views'.
