Route suggestion: Glenridding - Greenside Road - Red Tarn Beck - Red Tarn - Birkhouse Moor
4.1 mile / approx 2000 ft ascent
This is a nice long route to Birkhouse Moor, and for obvious reasons this is a walk to do if this is the only fell you intend to visit. The route is quite easy to follow and because if it's length, the climb of 2000 ft is well spread out so it won't feel as taxing as some of the routes in this area. Anyone interested in old mine workings will find the Greenside Mine ruins to be a real treat.
Don't forget to walk across to the north top which has a much better view than the true summit.
A good option for a return walk would be to take the Mires Beck route back to Glenridding or even head straight down the ridge to Lanty's Tarn.
