Car park, Grasmere tourist information centre

This is another one of the pay and display car parks found in Grasmere and therefore there isn't really much to say, except that it is within a minutes walk from the centre of the village and the church.

Route Map

A very misty and hazy Grasmere with Helm Crag behind.

Grasmere shore below Loughrigg Terrace.

Grasmere and the weir from Loughrigg Terrace.

Grasmere from the path up to Loughrigg.

Looking across Loughrigg Fell from the summit.
This is a great fell to explore, with paths that seem to run off in every direction.

From the summit we followed a route through this area which is marked on the OS map as Scartufts.

Watch you're step now !!
Jennifer crossing the beck near the caves.

Looking out of Rydal Cave.
The whole area was packed today, especially the caves where everyman and his dog seemed to be taking the same picture as this one.

Rydal Water.

And again a little further along the path.

Looking back along our route from Rydal from the start of Loughrigg Terrace.

Grasmere weir.
We crossed this footbridge in the picture and walked through the woods to get back to the main A591.
