Generally used as the starting point for an ascent of Great Mell Fell, this is merely the end of a farm lonning which is wide enough the accommodate three or four cars. This is somewhere I've never failed to get parked.

Little Mell Fell.
The original walk I had planned today wasn't very long and it was still quite early when I got back to the car. So while I was at the garage in Glendidding I decided to buy something to eat and have a walk up to Great Mell Fell on the way home.
I suppose it would have been easier to do a longer walk in the first place, but this was a nice finish to the morning.

Blencathra and the Mungrisdale fells from Great Mell summit.

From the summit again this time looking across to Clough Head and the Dodds.

About half way back down the fell with Penrith and the Pennines in the distance.

One of the many trees found on the fell side that have been shaped by the wind.
