Mungrisdale Village

Mungrisdale is without doubt a small place but it does still have a couple of different options for parking. Rather than list them separately, I've simply grouped them together as Mungrisedale Village. The map shows the various places on offer.

Route Map

River Glenderamackin and The Tongue.

Looking back down to the point where Bullfell Beck meets the River Glenderamackin.

From about half way up The Tongue looking in the same direction as the last picture.

The summit cairn on The Tongue, with Bowscale Fell behind.

Walking through the wet area between The Tongue and Bowscale Fell. It was much easier walking across this area today as the ground was still frozen. Normally you would need to take a route that zigzags between the little pools like this one.

The Skiddaw fells taken from the same place.

The Tongue from the path around to Bannerdale Crags.

Bannerdale Crags summit cairn. Bowscale Fell is the high point on the right and High Pike is in the background on the left.
