Car park, Keswick

There are so many car parks and so many roadside options in Keswick I've grouped them all together into one. To state the obvious, the car parks all charge and the roadside parking is rather a hit and miss affair.

Route Map

Today's walk turned out to be a spur of the moment plan "B". Our original walk from Wasdale deserved better weather than was forecast today, so literally minutes before setting out Walla Crag was suggested.

The Autumn colours were really starting to show as we walked up the path above Rakefoot farm.

Another picture looking back along the path.

A very calm Derwent Water in front of Cat Bells and the North Western fells.

Almost at Walla Crag now and looking back along the crags found along the approach to the actual summit.

A close up of one of the launches on Derwent Water. The wake from the boat helping to show just how calm the water was this morning.

The view down to Derwent Water, Bassenthwaite and Keswick from Walla Crag summit.

Keswick and the Skiddaw fells.

A little sunshine on Latrigg. Every little helps I suppose!

The steep path down the side of Cat Gill leading to Borrowdale.

Raining at Derwent Water.

The hundred year stone.

The water level was surprisingly low today. The debris on the fence show just how higher the water level can be after prolonged periods of rain.

Bucketing down at Friar's Crag.
