Roadside, Harrow Head, Wasdale

There aren't many places here I'm afraid. However, because the spaces are still some distance from the much busier parts of Wasdale, you'll generally be able to find a space here.

Route Map

This afternoons walk was a spur of the moment decision to grab some sunshine while it was actually putting in an appearance. Because of this it needed to be somewhere quick and easy to reach so I opted for a trip onto Buckbarrow and Seatallan; found on the route between Gosforth and Wasdale.

Looking up to the craggy southern end of Buckbarrow.

Illgill Head and Whin Rigg.

Middle Fell (left) and glimpse of Wast Water in the middle and Lingmell, Scafell Pike, Scafell and Slight Side at the back of he picture.

Buckbarrow summit in front of Illgill Head and Whin Rigg.

When I took this picture looking up to Seatallan from Cat Bields it was clear sunny and quite hot. In the 40 minutes it took me to reach the summit, high level cloud had worked its way across form the coast and the views in that direction were as grey and drab as you could get.

Seatallan summit.

and again, this time looking towards the scafells, and the top of Great Gable towards the left of the photo.

It looks like the nice clear conditions have gone for for a while !

Time to head back down towards, , , ,

For the final part of the walk I followed this the track running down from Windsor Farm.
