Roadside parking, Loweswater (waterend)

Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

Route Map

After a wet and miserable day, the sun decided to put in an appearance this evening. So, better late than never, I headed out for a short walk around Loweswater.

After crossing the bridge I took this picture looking across to Loweswater and Carling Knott.

Darling Fell, seen from the path across the fields at Waterend.

Well, that's enough height gain for one walk so now I'm heading down to the lake and Holme Wood.

A close up of Grasmoor; just and so topped with cloud.

Holme Wood.

and now Grasmoor is free of cloud.

Whiteside and Grasmoor looking somewhat darker as a couple of clouds pass overhead

Low Fell and Darling Fell.

Almost back at the main road now and looking across towards Crummock Water.

Mellbreak stands proud further through the valley.

There may be a bit of road walking along this side of the lake but part of it can be easily avoided by following this narrow path next to the waters edge.

Over there at the far end of Loweswater is Hen Comb.

And to finish off, another picture showing Loweswater, Mellbreak and Carling Knott.
