Roadside parking, Loweswater (waterend)

Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

Route Map

It was another unseasonably warm day again today up here in Lakeland, unfortunately this one brought with it very hazy conditions. Never mind, I saw no need to cry about it so I just nipped out for a short walk around Loweswater.

Darling Fell seen on the opposite side of the valley.

Just below Hudson Place Farm you come to this nice viewpoint of Loweswater.

Walking through Holme Wood is always really nice but days like this make it the little bit extra special.

Loweswater bothy.

and here's the view from the other side of the bothy. Over there are Whiteside, Grasmoor and Mellbreak.

Low Fell (left) and Whiteside (right).

Using a tree to keep the sun out of my eyes I take a picture of Watergate Farm.

Past the end of the lake I head along the track towards Maggie's Bridge. Grasmoor and Mellbreak are in view the whole way along here.

Looking up to Darling Fell and Low Fell.

Darling Fell and Low Fell.

A very hazy view across the end of the lake.
