Car park, Cinderdale Common

There are a couple of small car park areas along Cinderdale Common. They're all free and offer easy access to Rannerdale, where during late spring the display of blue bells is simply outstanding.

Route Map

As I get ready to set off I turn around and spot a larger than normal looking moon above Carling Knott.

Plenty of water in Cinderdale Beck this morning.

Looking ahead to Rannerdale Knotts.

Squat Beck.

From the higher ground at Hause Point I look across to Buttermere.

Rannerdale Knotts summit.
I could be wrong but I think the shiny thing over there is called the sun. Sadly I can't offer any explanation for the strange blue colour of the sky.

Mellbreak, Darling Fell, Low Fell, Fellbarrow, Loweswater and Crummock seen from Rannerdale Knotts summit.

Grasmoor seen from Rannerdale Knotts summit.

That's me looking back across to Rannerdale Knotts summit.

Across the road from the car I lean on a gate and take this picture looking down Crummock Water.

And to finish, here's a picture looking up to Grasmoor.
