Starting Point Information Centre -
Roadside parking, Loweswater (waterend)
Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

Route Map

A couple of minutes after setting off I find a comfortable gate to lean on and take this picture of Loweswater with Carling Knott and Mellbreak beside / behind.

and to save any confusion, , , ,

A very hazy view out towards the Cumbrian coast.

Fellbarrow summit seen in front of Grasmoor, Whiteside, Hopegill Head, Ladyside Pike, Grisedale Pike.

Leaving Fellbarrow to walk across the ridge to Low Fell.

I look back to Fellbarrow and wonder is anyone has explained to the sheep what they should do now the fence has gone but the gate is still here.

Another view back to Fellbarrow.

Whiteside and Grasmoor seen over Lorton Vale.

Here's Whiteside and Grasmoor again.

Blimey, what a view and what a lovely day. If you notice, you can see past of Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere in this picture.

A close up of Crummock Water and Buttermere.

After a steep walk up from Crabtree Beck I arrive at the top of Darling Fell.

Not far to go now, which was a shame on such a nice afternoon but, , , , that's the way it goes.
Here you have three pictures looking across Loweswater towards Mellbreak and Hen Comb. Taken from different places on the way down.
